Privacy statement

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Cannalyze is a medicinal cannabis clinic based in Christchurch, operated by Joshua Moa. We collect and hold personal and health information to provide you with care. We follow the Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.

What we collect

  • Your contact details: name, mobile, email and address for courier where needed.
  • Your health information: the history you give us in the registration form, notes from your consultations, prescriptions and follow up reviews.
  • Booking and payment records.
  • If you use our website chat, phone line or call back form: your messages, call summaries and the contact details you give us.

Why we collect it

To assess you, to decide with you whether treatment is clinically appropriate, to prescribe and review treatment, to arrange dispensing, to manage bookings and payments and to meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

  • The pharmacy that dispenses your prescription.
  • Your GP or another health provider, but only if you ask us to.
  • Service providers who host our booking system, patient app and records under confidentiality agreements, including the ClinicApp platform and AlumiAI.
  • Anyone we're required or permitted to share with by law.

We never sell your information and never use it for marketing without your consent.

Our booking assistant

Our website chat and phone line are answered by an automated booking assistant outside business hours and when our team is busy. It handles bookings and administration only. It doesn't give medical advice and doesn't record clinical information. Conversation records are kept for 2 years and then deleted.

How we store and protect it

Your information is stored securely in Australian and New Zealand data centres in compliance with the New Zealand Privacy Act. Access is limited to people who need it to care for you or run the clinic. We keep health records for at least 10 years, as required by the Health (Retention of Health Information) Regulations 1996.

Your rights

You can ask to see the health information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact our privacy officer and we will respond within 20 working days.
